MS. MOLLY DIETERMAN: Hi. I’m Molly Dieterman, Medical Aesthetician at the Whole Beauty Institute of Chicago. Today we are going to show you what it’s like to receive a Medical Grade Chemical Peel. This is Myisha, one of our patients. The other day at our consultation she discussed some concerns she had. Myisha what were your concerns? MYISHA: My face is looking really dull. Look at these two discolored spots I have here and right here I have a few impurities. Ewe, I need to look five years younger. MS. DIETERMAN: Okay. We can definitely help you with that. One way is doing a chemical peel. What that does is it dissolves the top layer of skin that causes the unevenness, dull complexion and just brightens up the skin again. Usually it is done in a series so let’s get started. MYISHA: Love it. MS. DIETERMAN: First we start by cleansing the skin and removing all the make up and impurities upon it. After that we take sterilize gauze and apply the appropriate chemical peel to the skin depending on which chemical peel is needed for what skin type. We usually start with the lowest amount and gradually increase with each procedure. With each stroke of the gauze it will attach to the skin and the patient will feel a slight stinging sensation. Over time it will subside. With the appropriate time gone we apply cold compresses to remove it. After that we apply the appropriate moisturizer and sun protection. So tell me what you think? MYISHA: Molly I really like the way my face is radiating and glowing. I feel very much vibrant again. MS. DIETERMAN: Great. Thank you for watching our segment, “What it’s like to receive a medical grade chemical peel.”
