How to Plan Your Facelift Timeline
Book Your Consultation 6-8 Weeks in Advance
If you want surgery in late fall, we recommend scheduling your consultation at least 6-8 weeks ahead of time. That window allows for finalizing your surgical plan, reviewing medications, arranging any medical clearance, and starting a pre-op skincare routine. It also gives you time to arrange for help at home and pause medications or other substances per our guidance. This prep is key for a smooth plastic surgery experience.
Typical Recovery Milestones to Expect
Recovery is different for each patient; however, many patients follow a similar timeline. Week 1 should focus on rest, head elevation, and include some short, gentle walks. By Week 2, you can expect swelling and bruising to improve. Some patients return to remote work at this point. Around Weeks 3–4, light social time and low-impact exercise are reasonable with our clearance. By Weeks 4–6, most patients feel photo-ready for gatherings, with continual healing over several months. We’ll tailor your plan based on the specifics of your facial surgery.
