Whole Beauty® Institute

It’s never too late to begin new health goals. If you have concerns about your appearance, you may want to consider different ways body contouring procedures can enhance the way you look.

As we age, it’s not uncommon to feel less confident as extra fullness and loose skin begin to appear around different parts of the body. Many people have a desire to make improvements with body contouring but are unsure of where to start.

It’s important to know that looking and feeling younger is not only about receiving plastic surgery (although it helps). Considering lifestyle changes, such as nutrition and exercise when they apply, can make a significant improvement to your health and well-being. In fact, a key factor to having successful, long-term results with body contouring is to be at a healthy weight before your surgery that you can reasonably maintain over time.

Top Body Contour Procedures at The Whole Beauty® Institute

Although it’s important to start with good nutrition and regular exercise, stubborn fatty deposits around the abdomen, hips, and waist can be notoriously difficult to lose, especially as we get older. Body contouring can assist you in achieving your aesthetic goals where diet and exercise fall short.

Dr. John Q. Cook offers several surgical and non-surgical body contouring options that can help you get the results you’re looking for. Dr. Cook and our highly experienced team will consult you on which treatment is best for you.

Tummy tuck

The tummy tuck (medically known as abdominoplasty) focuses on excess abdominal skin, weakness of the deep abdominal support, and excess fat around the waist to achieve a more proportional appearance. The skin around the abdomen can lose its tone, and regardless of how frequently you exercise, excess skin will rarely regain its elasticity. Patients undergo abdominoplasty to restore a toned appearance, which renews self-confidence.

Mommy Makeover

The Mommy Makeover is a combination of surgical procedures to restore and refine the contours of the breast, abdomen, and lower body that have been changed either by pregnancy or significant weight loss. This combination procedure is customized based on your needs. Because of our extensive experience, we can guide you to choices that make sense given your artistic preferences, as well as the practicalities of lifestyle and time available for recovery.

Laser Liposuction

Laser liposuction removes excess fat from various regions of the body using laser energy. Typically, men will target their abdomen, waist, and chest while women find laser liposuction useful around their flanks, hips, thighs, abdomen, and knees. Laser liposuction is also one of the most successful methods on areas of fat around the arms and neck. Most of our laser liposuction procedures can be done under local anesthesia in the comfort and privacy of our Chicago and Winnetka offices.

Other liposuction techniques include classical liposuction and Vaser® ultrasonic liposuction. Dr. Cook can determine which treatment technique is right for you.

BodyTite®

BodyTite® is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes radiofrequency energy to melt fat and tighten the skin and underlying tissue to a degree that skin removal may not be necessary. For patients who have mild to moderate loose skin and excess fat in the abdomen, flanks, hips, arms, and legs, BodyTite® can be an effective treatment.

Dr. John Q. Cook was one of the first surgeons in the United States to work with this groundbreaking technology that has been widely used in Europe, Asia, and Canada and was approved for use in the United States in late 2016.

AccuTite®

Accutite® addresses fat and skin laxity with pinpoint accuracy by making use of the same radiofrequency-emitting technology as BodyTite® for minimally invasive body and face contouring. As a smaller device, it is better suited for precision work to target focused areas and hard-to-reach places such as the knees and neck, and more “delicate” areas of the face, such as the area around the eyes. AccuTite® can also contour the jawline, forehead, and lower face. In select patients, the device serves as an alternative to a facelift or body surgery, but can also be used to refine the results of other procedures.

Evolve

Evolve is a non-surgical body contouring treatment ideal for patients already in reasonably good shape who want to reduce specific pockets of fat, tighten skin, and tone deeper tissues. This treatment is done through applicators that are applied to the body to deliver BodyFX and/or Forma technology (depending on the area being treated) and done in a series of comfortable sessions with no downtime.

BodyFX®

BodyFX® is a non-surgical body contouring treatment that can address both cellulite and moderate areas of excess fat. BodyFX® works by pulling the targeted tissue up and heating it with radiofrequency energy, which damages subdermal fat cells and leads to a reduction in volume. This can slim down the abdomen, flanks, hips, and thighs while reducing the outward pressure put on the skin that contributes to cellulite. BodyFX® can be used in combination with other body contouring procedures such as liposuction to enhance the results.
