Return to Your Skin’s Youthful Tone and Texture

Women and men in their 20’s and 30’s may notice that their skin is losing its youthful tone and appearance. The MOXI laser can be a perfect solution for early skin aging. MOXI provides a minimal downtime, quick treatment that can be used on all skin types.

A MOXI treatment can take as little as 10 minutes and can be adjusted in intensity to reach each person’s goals. Our clinicians think of MOXI as a “baby HALO”, our favorite laser that addresses more powerful signs of aging. MOXI is perfect for the person who is not ready for a HALO treatment and who may be seeking prejuvenation.

A series of MOXI treatments will soften early fine lines, improve skin surface texture, and make pores less visible. We often recommend a combined BBL HERO or BBL treatment combined with MOXI for maximum skin rejuvenation.

MOXI is the solution for people who enjoy outdoor exercise and wany youthful skin

The benefits of outdoor exercise are well-known. Contact with fresh air and nature are essential to health and well-being. Even in Chicago outdoor exercise is becoming a year-round pursuit. Walking, hiking, running, biking, tennis, golf, and watersports enhance the quality of life and a person’s positive energy.

The downside of outdoor activity is sun damage to the skin. You may feel great and refreshed, but your skin is not matching how you feel. Your skin may have become dull and uneven, despite your use of sunscreen.

MOXI provides an easy solution to this dilemma. You can continue with the activities that you love (with sunblock) but restore the freshness to your skin.

What is MOXI and how does it work?

Like all lasers, MOXI delivers a concentrated beam of light of a single wavelength. The 1927 wavelength of the MOXI sits midway between the two wavelengths in the more powerful HALO laser. It is ideal for milder degrees of rejuvenation that is needed by women and men in their 20’s to early 40’s. The MOXI is designed to be non-ablative, which means that it does not directly damage the surface of the skin. Instead, the energy passes into the skin and provokes a healing response. This leads to the regeneration of collagen and elastic fibers that are lost or disorganized by early sun damage. What you will see is smoother skin surface and better skin tone, plus some improvement in pigmentation. Because the skin’s surface is not damaged, recovery from a MOXI treatment is very quick. It is well suited to people with active lifestyles.

What it is like during a MOXI treatment?

Moxi treatments can be delivered at 3 levels of intensity. At Level 1 discomfort is relatively mild, even without topical anesthesia. Most patients with level 2 or level 3 MOXI treatments will come in at least 30 minutes before their treatment so that a numbing cream can be applied to the skin. The Whole Beauty® clinician will cleanse your skin and gently roll the device across your face as it delivers tiny bursts of energy in a pattern that leaves space between areas where the beam of energy has penetrated. The power of the energy delivered and the spacing between the tiny spots of energy will be matched by your clinician to what is appropriate for your skin. Many patients choose to combine MOXI with BBL, in which case the BBL is performed first and then immediately followed by MOXI. Before you know it, your treatment is complete.

What is recovery like from MOXI?

After a Level 1 treatment there is mild redness and very little discomfort. With Level 2 and Level 3 plan on a day or 2 of redness and perhaps some darkening of treated areas of pigment. It is very important to protect the skin from the sun after MOXI.

MOXI plus BBL: the perfect Combination for Rejuvenation

The combination of MOXI and BBL (broadband light photo rejuvenation) produces a home run for our patients. MOXI improves the surface and texture of the skin, while BBL evens our areas of excess red and brown pigment. The effect of the two treatments together is truly synergistic.
