The structural mastopexy technique is a great leap forward for breast surgery. As I’ve developed the technique, I’ve expanded its use to a wide range of possibilities including: breast reduction, augmentation-mastopexy, and breast reconstruction.
A recent patient raised a question that commonly comes up in consultation: whether breast implants and a breast lift can be combined in a single surgery. A careful consideration of the patient’s breast structure, the type of surgical technique employed for a breast lift or mastopexy, and the patient’s state of health and well-being will guide us in our recommendation. Consultations for the combined surgery of a breast lift with breast implants are available for both our Chicago and Winnetka offices.
The periareolar mastopexy operation can bring an areola that is too large or sitting too low into better harmony with the breast. This also allows me to position an implant, so that I can adjust the volume of the breast augmentation.
If you are considering breast augmentation surgery, it is important for you to realize that breast implants alone will not solve every breast problem. Fortunately there is a good solution.
